The night is falling. The path at your feet wanders into a dark wood. In the distance is the glow of a house. Eery hypnotic music drifts from the basement into the heavens. The gate swings open as you approach, and the door creaks wide, beckoning you inside. Your group steps over the threshold, and the door slams shut. You have entered a world of your own choosing, a world of mystery and excitement.
In this thrilling in-person event, your team will be challenged to solve escape-room-style puzzles and capture fun, themed photos as you navigate a virtual Haunted House. Rest assured, safety is our top priority. Each team will be equipped with a bag of eerie props and a tablet pre-loaded with our bespoke app your guide through six different virtual rooms, each more terrifying than the last.
Your mission? Solve the codes that unlock each room and lead you closer to your ultimate escape. The tension builds as you reach the final room—the attic. Here, your team must figure out which key holds the correct code. Place your chosen key on the Ouija board to reveal your fate: have you successfully escaped, or are you trapped in the haunted house forever?
Learning Outcomes
Haunted House has been specifically designed to foster a sense of courage and accomplishment in a team. The gameplay encourages teams to work together, valuing and celebrating each person’s ideas, actively listening and nurturing discussion. As team trust builds, participants learn to overcome a fear of failure, take the courage to speak up and communicate their ideas with clarity. Through trust, self-belief and courage, teams discover the successes that collaborative deductive reasoning can bring, leading to a powerful sense of accomplishment.
When excitement and anxiety come into play, practicality and logical thinking can become skewed. Teams with cool heads can think rationally under pressure and employ problem-solving skills together. This activity is their chance to engage with their teammates in a new, fun, and informal way, sparking excitement and intrigue.
